Membership of the Fund is compulsory for all employers and employees in the Industry.

This is in terms of the Bargaining Council Main Agreement where it is stipulated that membership of the Fund shall be compulsory for all employees employed in any classes of work in any Agreement in the Industries, including apprentices and employees employed in operative processes.

An employer may, in respect of his employees whose wages are not specified in any agreement operative in the Industries, whether paid weekly or monthly, by mutual agreement make application to the Fund to accept contributions from himself and those employees.
